Is it OK to wear deck/boat shoes with jeans?

At my job, we don’t have to dress up. I work for an IT department and sometimes I have to crawl around on the floor and up in attics. But it isn’t exactly digging ditches either… We try to look semi-dressed up. Would it look dorky to wear boat shoes with jeans and a polo shirt to achieve the semi-dressed up look? Are boat shoes just for shorts, no socks, and to go out on the lake with? I know it might not be the most fashionable thing (that’s okay), but I just don’t want to be doing a well-known nono, like wearing a black belt with blue slacks for example.

These are not the suede kind… don’t know the material, but my jeans covering them have turned them blue/black, and they are originally oat/linen color.

Dose wearing casual shoes like canvas boat shoes for example look better without socks. Just for everyday wear like with jeans, T Shirt ect, not formal like in the office ect. What do girls think of it, dose it look better? And also I lived in a flat with a bunch of girls and it’s a bit of a taboo subject, if a guy’s unfortunate enough to have to take his shoes off, girls can get a little bitchy sometimes about bare feet.

i found a pair that is super comfy, leather, and feel like slippers. Only problem is, I’m not sure what kinds of things to wear them with, other than t-shirts and jeans. :/
